Carlos Lutterbach
Storyboard Artist, Bad Fairies
Carlos Lutterbach was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and started his career in Los Angeles where he studied animation. Early on, he was fortunate to learn from one of the industry greats when he interned at James Baxter Animation at a time when JBA worked on the 2D features, Curious George and Enchanted. This experience was fundamental to Carlos' artistic education and led to his first feature job right out of university as a character layout artist for The Simpsons Movie.
Since then, Carlos has predominantly worked in feature films as a Story Artist, but also had the opportunity to animate and to work on commercials and visual development, including the pitch for Wonka. Working in Story has enabled Carlos to continue drawing and fulfil his childhood dream of becoming a professional artist. His work spans a variety of techniques and mediums, including 2D and 3D animation, Stop Motion, Live Action, and Hybrid Live Action/Animation. His credits include The Simpsons Movie, Sherlock Gnomes, Ron’s Gone Wrong, A Boy Called Christmas, Tom and Jerry, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and the yet unreleased Coyote vs. Acme, in which he worked as Story Artist, 2D animator and Animation Supervisor.
Now back at Locksmith Animation, Carlos is super excited about the studio’s new feature, Bad Fairies, where he has joined many of his favourite artists in the movie’s Story Team.
