Kimberley Coupland
Second Assistant Editor
Kim is the Second Assistant Editor at Locksmith. Kim discovered her passion for film editing while working with a Steenbeck Editing Table during her time at University of the Creative Arts. She specialised in Editing throughout her Film Production degree and even became certified in Avid Media Composer.
Fresh out of university, she worked her way up from Post Production Runner to In-House Edit Assistant at TVC Soho. In 2018, Kim landed her first feature film role on The Aeronauts. Initially brought on as a Trainee, it was on this project that she showcased her skills and advanced to the position of 2nd Assistant Editor. Since then, she has worked on a range of feature films and HETV shows as a 2nd Assistant Editor and Assistant VFX Editor, including Lena Dunham’s Catherine Called Birdy, and True Detective S4: Night Country.
In 2019, Kim joined Locksmith Animation on Ron’s Gone Wrong, where she gained insights of a different way of storytelling - animation! Although Kim enjoys live-action projects, she couldn’t resist re-joining the Locksmith team for a short stint on That Christmas, assisting with the final stages of delivery. Now, she is thrilled to take on the role as the 2nd Assistant Editor on Bad Fairies - and this time for the long run!
Kim rarely has any spare time as she is a Mum of two. She finds herself spending weekends either at a park, soft play or a birthday party, along with the joys of changing dirty nappies! However, once the kids are in bed, she occasionally unwinds by embroidering and she is currently teaching herself how to make a quilt! (Because what’s cooler than a mum who can whip up a blanket?)
